Summary Back to Top

Seeking to replace its outdated and too small existing facility, METRO’s new facility will house both operations and vehicle maintenance areas. The operations area will include a new visitor dayroom lounge, fitness center, sleep room, quiet room, game room, kitchen, and locker room. The exterior space will feature outdoor patios, a large walking path, and a meadow.

The vehicle maintenance areas will house maintenance bays with different combinations of lifts and fall arrest systems that will allow staff to work on all types of vehicles. Features include a new paint booth, enclosed chassis wash bays, dedicated body repair bays, a locker room, and new equipment for the sheet metal shop and brake rebuild shop.

Space for approximately 250 buses and support vehicles, along with parking spaces for staff and visitors, is also included in this area. Visitor parking will include spaces for electric-vehicle charging, accessibility, rideshare, and covered bicycle parking.

Also included in the project is a training pad for individuals who want to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License.

The project is designed and being constructed to achieve LEED Platinum certification.
