Summary Back to Top

This showpiece project included two, two-story additions and renovation of the Institute's Robinson Music Library. The main focus of the project is the addition housing Mixon Hall, a 235-seat recital hall featuring state-of-the-art acoustic technology and picturesque views of a sunken garden through its 45-foot-tall wall of windows.

A dramatic new two-story lobby and main entrance accompany the hall on the main level, while mechanical spaces and dressing rooms can be found in the basement. The striking new entrance on East Boulevard welcomes visitors to the revamped facility and architecturally blends with the existing building.

The second addition, the Fred A. Lennon Education Building, houses Distance Learning studios, audio studios, practice rooms, a student lounge, administrative offices, and a conference room.
